This was one of my earlier oil painting done in class. I recall that it was really difficult trying to paint this still life for two reasons. Firstly, I have never liked still life even from my school days and secondly, I did not feel that I possessed enough basic oil painting skills to carry out this exercise at that point as it was about the 5th lesson into the 10 lesson art course. So, the only thing that looked like what it was supposed to be was the bottle and even then, it did not resemble a wine bottle for that was what it was. The grapes looked like lychees and the local fruit called chikus on the right was definitely unidentifiable.
