Colour-pencil drawing

I had about 20 minutes of time to kill and decided to do a sketch of this flower that is common in our parks and nature reserves. This was done from memory alone and I intend to do an acrylic painting of it later. I will have to check out the details further to ensure that the depiction of the flower and buds will be accurate.

One day I was at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and I came across a tree with flowers and buds and decided to do a detailed study of them. The petals of the flowers, I realised are more crepe-like and the leaves are not all perfectly shaped the way I had drawn them before. Drawing the life flower is a lot more absorbing and satisfying than just drawing based on memory.
